Hiring across the UK

You don't drive. You just make the ride feel normal.

Avroll's cars drive themselves. You sit in the passenger seat as an observer — first on public test drives as we finish development, later alongside customers once we're fully rolled out. No driving licence or experience needed; training is a short course you complete online.

The role

You're not driving. You're the reason the ride feels normal.

An observer rides in the passenger seat while the car drives itself — right now on test routes as part of final development and marketing drives, and later alongside customers riding in the back once Avroll is fully rolled out. No driving skills needed. The job is presence, not control.

Ride along

Sit in the passenger seat on scheduled routes while the car drives itself, on test runs now and alongside customers later.

Put people at ease

Chat, answer basic questions, and make the experience feel normal for someone trying driverless travel for the first time.

Report what happened

End each ride with a short note on comfort and handling — this is what the team actually reads.

Shifts & pay

Three shifts, straightforward pay

Take a full shift or a half shift on any of the three below — half shifts pay half, for half the hours. An Avroll car picks you up and drops you off before and after every shift, and breaks are built in throughout.

Why it's still mandatory: observers are the human presence for members of the public experiencing driverless rides. The course covers what to expect, how to help someone feel comfortable, and what to report — no driving licence or experience is required at any stage.
